The hospital is divided after the Iraq War is debated about. Cox wants to know the gender of his baby, as Jordan has decided to allow him to know this.

Cox get revenge on each other. Turk 's patient loses faith in him after he admits the truth. Carla tries out her new "I have a baby" excuse. Janitor goes on vacation, but that doesn't stop him tormenting J. Private Dancer wants to write his name.

Turk goes from surgical to medical after breaking his arm, and aims to win Dr Cox's respect. Everyone is coping with boredom on a slow day. Roger Templeton arrives at the hospital after attempted suicide, but can't remember it. Private Dancer is discharged from Sacred Heart , but is admitted back after he is found unconscious from a drug overdose. Cox tries to warn Elliot of a reformed drug addict.

The staff is condemned to wearing brown scrubs when Kelso suspects a clothing thief in their midst. Elliot is suspended when she brings a dog into the hospital. Cox debates with Laverne over the existence of a "greater plan".

Kelso 's true age is revealed. Cox has a year-old patient, Josh Winston , who is diagnosed with leukemia. Kelso signs the hospital up to RateYourDoc. The Janitor hides his crazy side to his girlfriend Lady. Kelso wins free muffins for life from Coffee Bucks. Carla worries about ensuring Izzy a bright future.

Cox rants about an impulsive patient. Turk learns Spanish as a gift for Carla, but is convinced to keep it a secret for his own benefit. Turk acts hyper-masculine and takes it out on J. Elliot uses the men's restroom and overhears Dr. Kelso on a phone call to his wife. Janitor starts The Janitorial. Kelso reminisces on his past 40 years at Sacred Heart. Carla and Elliot work to get the board of directors to change their decision about Kelso.

Kelso leaves his Chief of Medicine job. Cox loves his new title, however he is unsure if he wants all of the problems that come with it. After having a bad day at the hospital, Dr. Cox goes home to find out he has to tell his son Jack a story. Sacred Heart welcomes Dr. Maddox , their new Chief of Medicine. Elliot realizes she is self involved and apologizes to Keith.

Janitor gets fired. Jordan and Dr. Maddox bond. Cox and Janitor work to get Dr. Maddox fired, but need the help of Dr. Carla and Katie have a serious talk in the cafeteria. Kelso decides to not let anybody's opinion bother him. Cox slightly overcomes trust issues with Turk.

Cox tries to find out why he hates Ed. Elliot gets Katie a position on Turk 's academic team. Elliot worries about making a night special for J. Turk 's sweet tooth takes over when Carla is gone.

Cox realizes the stresses of his new Chief of Medicine job. Cox to grant them favors. Elliot angers the nurses, and tries to set things right again. Ted falls in love with a ukulele player.
